Smoothies can be enjoyed at any time of the day, such as in the morning for breakfast, after an intense workout in the afternoon, or even as a healthy dessert in the evening. Their fun, refreshing vibe can bring about the happiness and relaxtion associated with the summer months that we oh so longinly wish to extend now that the fall season is right around the corner. Smoothies can be as simple or complex as we make them, requriing only but a blender, a few varities of fruits or vegetables, and any additional ingredients such as yogurt. Here are a few of our favorite recipes:

PB&B Smoothie (who can resist a peanut butter/banana combo?!):

1 frozen banana

1 TBSP peanut butter

1 cup almond milk

1 tsp cinnamon

Tropical Green Smoothie (do not be thrown off by the color!):

1 large orange, peeled and segmented

6 large strawberries

2 cups baby spinach

1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 cup ice

 

Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie (when craving something sweet!)

½ cup skim or soy milk

6 oz low fat vanilla yogurt

¼ cup dark chocolate chips

1 cup frozen raspberries

Remember, there is so much freedom when in comes to making a smoothie. Get creative, and have fun!
